Sara is a filmmaker based in Crested Butte, Colorado, and the Co-Founder of The Road West Traveled—the production company behind the award-winning ski documentary Abandoned (2018) and the all-women ski film Advice for Girls (2023).
Her work digs into the heart of adventure, amplifies underrepresented voices, and challenges the mold of traditional outdoor media. Sara specializes in authentic, character-driven storytelling and brings a full-scope production skillset to every project—directing, producing, shooting in remote locations, managing post-production, and flying drones as a licensed pilot. She’s collaborated on documentary and branded films around the globe for leading outdoor brands.
Sara serves on the Protect Our Winters Creative Alliance, has guest lectured for the University of Colorado's Sports Journalism and Gender course, and has been featured on panels at various film festivals and outdoor events.
Before transitioning into filmmaking, Sara built a successful career in digital marketing at major tech companies such as Yahoo, Oracle, and Google. This background provides her with a unique perspective on leveraging video content in global marketing campaigns.
A former Freeride World Tour Qualifier athlete and coach, Sara is a seasoned backcountry and big mountain skier. Her athletic background enables her to move with the story, no matter how far off the beaten path it leads.
Sara's work is driven by a commitment to authentic storytelling and a passion for the mountains. She continues to inspire others through her films and advocacy, encouraging everyone to find their place in the outdoors.
